At Cap’n Dave’s Marine Services we provide a various array of services for our customers. Our motto is “We treat your boat as if it was ours”. Many servicing needs can be accommodated by us in our shop or at the site of your boat. We are able to perform maintenance year round with intensive winter maintenance performed during October thru April. For specialized maintenance or repairs, we work hand-in-hand with several other independent contractors while always maintaining the role of coordinator, thereby guaranteeing quality workmanship at each step in the process of the job. Some of the jobs we often sub-contract are: work related to heavy engine and outdrive repair; stainless steel; upholstery; heavy fiberglass repairs and aluminum fabrication.

During the progress of your repair and/or maintenance work, we maintain communication with each owner, because as any boat owner knows, once maintenance is undertaken, surprises may occur. We work closely with each client to ensure the client's satisfaction. The client will be provided a cost estimate for any additional service determined to be necessary before the work is commenced.

Our goal is to provide the best customer service possible to our customers. We realize that we are only as good as our customers say we are, so we plan to keep our customers satisfied.

Cap’n Dave’s Marine Services does not provide major engine or outdrive maintenance. We will inform you of any major mechanical issues and arrange for your major maintenance with an authorized boat engine dealer in the area or point you in the right direction to get those maintenance issues resolved.

MAINTENANCE

  • We provide services to maintain and repair your boat from sun and elemental damage, such as hull damage, chips and scratches, dings and smashes.
  • Detailing services including washing, buffing and waxing with our marine polishes to make your boat look like new again. We also detail the inside of the boat and do minor upholstery repair on-site.
  • We offer year round maintenance packages to insure your boat is operating at peak performance.
  • Winterizing and spring commissioning.
  • We offer fluid checks, oil changes, outdrive maintenance including impeller/water pump repair and minor tune ups for your boat.
  • Detailing (interior, exterior, or package deals) call for "detailed" pricing.
  • Full underwater maintenance, hull cleaning and inspections by Cap'n Dave's Divers.
  • Apply Antifouling paint.
  • Boat/Trailer power washing.
  • Have trailer problems, we can also address trailer repairs, bearings, rotted wood, bad rollers, electrical wiring and the like. Let us renew your trailer to original condition.
  • Inside maintenance including woodwork, varnishing, windows, pumps, toilets and fixtures.
  • Pickup and delivery service.
  • Electrical repairs and component replacement.
  • Instrumentation repairs and replacements.
  • Safety Checks.
  • Haul Out Service.
  • Tilt and trim systems, ignition or charging, cooling systems, water pumps, blowers, steering controls and cables or anything that should be running or working and isn't.

PARTS

Cap'n Dave

Cap'n Dave's has basic repair parts, oils, batteries, electrical connectors and other accessories generally in stock. We can order in specific repair parts for all inboard/Stern drive repairs. Need something special for the do-it-yourself, come by and order your items through us. Orders are generally delivered within one to two working days.

We also carry Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants that meet and exceed Mfg's specifications.

  • Storm Checks during inclement weather for canvas tears, leaks, and chaffed mooring lines
  • Oversee and Report on all work done by other service providers
  • Sale and Installation of any onboard equipment

Our Monthly Service Check is a 100 point plus worksheet that we use to check and verify all systems on your boat. Your boat must be completely self sustaining at sea in order to transport you and your family safely. We take your trust and family seriously and are available to assist you 24 hours a day.

At Cap’n Dave’s – we are a preventive maintenance company. We start and operate all mechanical and electronic items on your vessel. We look for possible problems and resolve them before they become a problem. From bow to stern we look at cleanliness, corrosion, gel-coat cracking etc. Overall condition is important. We look for many items not on any check sheet, with an experienced eye to see anything out of the ordinary.
